The Morning Gift, by Eva Ibbotson

I loved this book so much! Great romance. It takes place in the WWII era. The story is about a college age girl who gets stuck in Austria when her parents have already escaped to England. She loves her fiance terribly and he went to his own country to escape, but they plan on meeting in England. She has one real chance of getting out when an English professor friend of the family finds her all alone and offers to help. The only way he can get her out is if they get married. Knowing she is in love with her fiance, the professor tells her they will get annulled as soon as they get to England. However, it doesn't go a smoothly as they had planned.
This book has some profanity, but not overwhelming and does allude to having sex a couple of times.
